The Discover Fitness/Discover Performance Atom ‘B’ Falcons returned home with gold following the 37th-annual Kanata Girls Hockey Association Competitive Tournament held Nov. 15-17th.

The team dominated during the round-robin on Friday and Saturday, winning all four games and conceding only two goals against.

The final game against the host team Kanata Rangers was a tight back-and-forth battle that saw little puck luck for the Falcons who hit several posts and narrowly missed chances around the opponent’s net.

Up 2 -1 with less than a minute to play, the Falcons took a penalty.  With the goaltender pulled, the Rangers tied the game with 10 seconds left in the third forcing an overtime.

It took only 24 seconds of the three-on-three action in overtime for the Falcons to score and earn the championship trophy.
