Woman charged after Timmins man stabbed

Police have charged a Timmins woman after 34-year-old man was stabbed.
The incident occurred Tuesday evening at a Commercial Avenue apartment and arose from a dispute involving two acquaintances.
Timmins Police Service officers responded to the scene and were able to identify, locate, and arrest the female suspect.
As a result, Melanie Veillette, 37, of Timmins has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Veillette was being held in police custody pending the results of a bail hearing in Timmins provincial court Wednesday.
Police say the victim received medical attention for the injuries he sustained during the altercation.
