Three arrested on weekend

Three Timmins residents were arrested in separate incidents over the weekend on the strength of arrest warrants or based on alleged offences.

Jamie Lewis-Beckford, 41, was taken into custody on Saturday where police say they seized an unspecified quantity of methamphetamine located in his possession.

The man was held for a bail hearing slated for Monday morning at provincial court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.

Additionally, Cynthia Rutherford, 34, was taken into police custody after an officer responded to a call at an undisclosed residence and discovered the woman to be in direct violation of strict conditions.

Lastly, Waylon Edwards, 41, was seen Monday morning attempting to avoid police detection after seeing a cruiser, according to a release issued by the Timmins Police Service.

The man was pursued on foot and located in the backyard of a residence.

The man, had court imposed conditions related to a curfew imposed on him, was taken into police custody and held for a bail hearing slated for Monday morning at provincial court in Timmins to answer to the charges of one count of failure to comply with recognizance, and one count of failure to comply with a probation order.
