Head of Pinterest Canada will be keynote speaker for International Women’s Day event

The Timmins Chamber of Commerce will be hosting Erin Elofson, head of Pinterest Canada, for a virtual International Women’s Day themed session.

Elofson, who is the head of Canada, Australia and New Zealand regions at Pinterest, will be talking about women in leadership roles, female parity on governing boards, the importance of a curated digital presence and much more.

Melanie Verreault, president of the Timmins Chamber of Commerce, said, “I am really glad that we partnered with the Business Enterprise Centre to host Erin. I think it’s a great idea and it’s a critical time and relevant time to bring somebody like this on International Women’s Day.”

Verreault is personally looking forward to learning more about female parity on governing boards from Elofson and get some tricks and tips that might help her to succeed in the industry.

The event will be hosted via Zoom on Monday, March 8 from noon to 1 p.m. Admission fee for chamber members is $25 and general is $40.

Verreault said this event is aimed at all women — not just those in business.

“We often talk about this work-life balance aspect with women being home, raising their children or taking care of kids. Certainly, they could use this opportunity to create a digital business or a platform to speak so, I think people could be inspire by messages that could be coming from this presentation,” she said.

Pinterest is a social media site that help people in discovering or finding ideas for home and style, recipes, inspiration and much more.
