‘Sanford and Son’ actor Raymond G. Allen, Sr. has passed away, aged 91.
According to TMZ, he was found unresponsive early on Monday, when paramedics tried and failed to revive him at a long-term California facility he had called home since 2016.
His relatives claim he died after struggling with respiratory issues not related to the coronavirus pandemic.
Allen, Sr. found success in hit 1970s sitcoms Sanford and Son, playing Uncle Woody, and Good Times, in which he portrayed Ned the Wino.
His other screen credits include Starsky and Hutch, The Jeffersons, What’s Happening!!, and The Love Boat.
